Wine Route of the Etruscan Coast
The Wine Route of the Etruscan Coast is a wine and food route that crosses the Livorno countryside, including the island of Elba. The aim of this route is to enhance and promote the agricultural excellence of the territory at a tourist level.
First of all the renowned red wines DOC and DOCG in the areas of Bolgheri, Bibbona, Montescudaio, but also extra virgin olive oil and other local products. The Etruscan Coast’s Wine Route is about 150 km long and leads to the discovery of vineyards, olive groves, cultivated fields and unforgettable landscapes. Along the way you will find numerous farms, wine cellars and wine bars where you can taste local wine together with other products of excellence in the area: bread, salami, honey, cheeses. It is also possible to visit the vineyards accompanied by a guide explaining the peculiarities of it.
In the Livorno countryside, viticulture is a traditional activity that is deeply tied to the history and economy of the area. Centuries of experience have allowed local producers to reach an excellent level of quality, now recognized worldwide. Some of the most famous Italian wines come from this area of Tuscany.
